Premier Week

It’s been a minute or two since I have updated my blog. So here I am again. It is the last day of summer and that means new shows are on television this week. Tonight being a big night. There are shows like Heroes, CSI Miami, House and Dancing with the Stars. I have seen all of these shows in the past. I can not say I watch a lot of TV now.

Adam Rodriguez The only show that really interest me is CSI Miami. Last season it ended with the viewers not knowing if Eric was dead or not. I think I speak for a lot of women out there when I say, if Eric is dead there is no reason for me to keep watching. Yea I’m superficial in this case. He’s sexy. With the previews of this new season, CBS made it look like the show would be going back in time. Showing us how they all became the team they are today. I hope that doesn’t mean Eric will not be in some kind of coma for a period of time. Anything like that would just piss me off haha.

Dancing With The Satrs As for Dancing With The Stars, I don’t think I’m very interested in this cast. Mya should do well because of her background. Kelly Osborn might surprise everyone. Macy Gray is the wild card. Simply because of her spastic nature. You never know what you are going to get with her.

There is something on TV for almost everyone tonight. If new episodes of reality shows and sitcoms don’t float your boat. There is always Monday night football. The Colts are in Miami to play the Dolphins. Enjoy your night!

Tell ‘Em O!

It looks like the mainstream media and I more or less have the same opinion on the infamous Chris Brown interview. Two days ago he appeared on Larry King Live along with is mother and attorney. I watched with an open mind as to not judge him by my personal feelings. After the interview was over I did not understand why he spoke in the first place. He did not reveal anything new. When it came to the hard questions, he stuttered out what seemed to be his generic answer. He did not want to get into any detail because he felt it was a private matter between him and Rihanna and he wanted to respect her privacy as well. Fine. Keep the situation private. That is his prerogative. Just don’t go on Larry King thinking you will come across as remorseful with your baby blue sweater and bow tie to match. He may as well have not done the interview if he really did not want to or couldn’t answer any of the questions people/fans wanted answered. As he was trying to come up with answers to a lot of the questions, his attorney would interject and answer for him.

Oprah Winfrey & Chris Brown

Now today another story has come out involving Chris Brown and Oprah! Soon after the incident took place with Brown and Rihanna in February, Oprah did a show on domestic abuse and young women especially. As you would expect, Oprah is very much against this.

Chris Brown: “I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face,” Chris tells People.”I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.’”

Oprah’s statement to TMZ: “Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs.”

I saw the Oprah show in question and it was not one sided. It was also about the abusers getting help to brake the violent cycle. When you get yourself in these kind of predicaments you can only defend yourself so much. Chris needs to just keep a low profile, stop taking interviews for a while, do his community service and councelling. He will not be condemed for life but for now, the best thing is to do what you have to do to improve yourself as a person and in the eyes of everyone else. It sucks that is how it is when you are in the public eye but it is what it is.

If you missed the interview, part one is here. You can find the other parts by watching on YouTube.

Paula’s Out

American Idol

After months of speculation of who will be going and staying as an American Idol judge, the verdict is in. As many celebrities do these days, Paula let the world know through Twitter. Her tweet reads: “With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon.” (This was divided into two tweets if you are wondering. We all know you can’t go over the 140 character limit.)

There are rumours that it had to do with money. Despite her wacky character at times, she is a big part of American Idol. With Simon Cowell as the tell it like it is guy, Kara Dioguardi right beside him and Randy “yo dog” Jackson, the show will miss the compassion Paula added. I don’t know how well this trio will work for the 2009 season. I stopped watching Idol on a regular basis a long time ago. It is still a huge success so I can’t hate on it. This is not a fact but I’m guessing that Fox simply did not want to pay her what she deserved. If Ryan Seacrest and Simon can get huge deals, why not Paula? It will be interesting to see if this will effect the show’s ratings this year. Time will tell. There are a lot of Paula fans out there.

The World Is Listening

I just saw this story on the TV show 20/20. They were showcasing one particular high school class in California. Most of the students in the class are being affected by the recession. Between that and trying to keep up their grades, it’s become a big stress on them. No one ever talked about their life at home before. The shame was too much. That’s until they found out they were not alone. Their teacher asked them if they would be willing to express their feelings on camera. They made a video and The President saw it. An email came from the white house directly to the teacher in class while 20/20 was shooting. It was a copy on a speech. Obama wanted to let them know that he saw the video and was very moved by all the students. He included them in his speech for education reform.

This is a global issue. If anything, it shows that you are not alone. Watch the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WMTTrOrKVI

ER’s Pleasant Surprise

In the this weeks episode of ER there was a pleasant surprise at the end. For those that did not get a chance to see it yet, you might want to come back to this post after. If you did see it, keep reading. Seems like the characters on this show are either getting a happy ending or end  up dead. The producers have done a pretty good job with the final season. I’m so happy that Ray and Nela will finally have a chance to be together. Did NOT see that coming. (Don’t worry. I’m aware that I talk as if these are real people.) Nela left county hospital to pursue a whole new career in medicine in another city. Only two more episodes to go. Frown
