It’s about time! Quebec elected the Liberals as their majority government today. So tired of these minority governments all the time. It only shows that the masses are fed up of the same old, same old. So we tried the minority thing. In times like these where the economy is a major concern a majority government is imperative. I’m not for one party more than the other but I feel that Mr. Charest is the best choice for leader right now. I pray that nothing comes up where we will have to go to the polls again before his term is up. We are sick of elections! The thing is, Canadians across the country will probably have to vote again next year. Since it seems this coalition government wants to bring down Harper and the conservatives.
The recent election campaign here in Quebec wasn’t even that interesting. No one really cared. I haven’t heard the voter turn out yet but I’d be interested to know what the percentage was. Stability is needed everywhere now. Here’s to hoping we can get back on track sooner than later.

Buying a dog is not as easy as some may think. For the last six months I have been researching. Finding out what kind of breed would be good for me and my lifestyle. I really can’t stand it when people go to the pet store and spontaneously buy a dog or a cat. These animals take a lot of time and money out of you. It’s almost like having a child, which I don’t have by the way. I figure this will be my transition into having one some day ha-ha. I have always wanted a dog but I knew I was not ready to have one until this year. The walking, training, vet bills, it all seemed so over whelming at one time. After my search into the many different breeds, I decided on a few. At the top of my list is a Havanese. It’s a low shedding dog. Friendly, playful, intelligent and more or less easy to train. Loves to show off new tricks and a good watch dog despite it’s size.
Other breeds I can have and like are:
-Yorkshire Terrier
-Poodle
-Schitzsu
-Pekineses
-Most poodle Mixes
A Havanese dog would be my first choice but my problem is that I can not find any breeders in Montreal. I went online to see if there were any out there and the closest would be one in a small town in another province! What the hell?! I know they are not that popular here yet but wow. Next closest place I’d have to go is Vermont. I don’t have a car either so I’d have to get someone to drive me. I refuse to buy a sod from a pet store as well. Especially here in Quebec. Puppy mills run rampant here. The laws are way to relaxed. It’s a shame too because there are so many people that don’t realize the conditions these dog live in. A few puppy mills have been raided recently and they put it on the news. Until I find a reputable breeder of any breed I will not buy a dog. I figure I’ll get one when I’m supposed to. Until then I continue my search, watch The Dog Whisperer, and enjoy the feeling I get with every dog I come in contact with. Even though it is not my own.
