When I am on MSN messenger I noticed there are 2 kinds of people. One kind will actually look at your status and let that determine if they will IM you or not. Then there are others who also look at your status but don’t give a damn about it! Why do we have these options if so many people don’t understand them? This is why staying invisible and choosing who talks to you is sometimes better. Let’s go through the statuses one at a time.
- ONLINE: I’m online and am available to chat.
- BUSY: I’m around but I may not reply right away because I’m busy doing something else.
- BE RIGHT BACK: I’ve stepped away for a moment but I will be back soon. Don’t expect a reply until I get back.
- AWAY: I’m NOT in front of my computer right now. So I will not be replying.
- IN A CALL: This one is pretty self-explanatory. I’m on the phone, you’re going to have to wait.
- OUT TO LUNCH: Not in front of my computer. I’m eating so don’t bother me right now.
There are always those few friends on the list that just don’t seem to understand this concept. If someone sends me a IM and I’m set at away, do you think I will answer? No! I’m away for a reason
. What makes me laugh is when someone will ask me a question, expecting a reply when I’m set at away. Then get mad because I’m apparently ignoring them. It used to get me so upset! Now I just ignore it. I figure, if you can’t read, that’s not my problem. Do your friends do this to you too? Or is it just the people I know? Maybe you’re one of the people that do it. If so, I need to ask you a question? Why?

This is something I have to get off my chest. I love technology. Love the advances it has made in our every day lives. What irks me is that the more technologically advanced we get, the more the market makes you purchase. Don’t agree with me? Well how about this fact? You should know by now that by February of 2009, all TV will broadcast in digital only. No more analog and the rabbit ears. Now everyone will have to buy a digital box. I don’t know about your neck of the woods but here in Canada or Montreal at least, it will cost you $99.99. That’s per TV don’t forget. If you want to take advantage of the HD channels then you have to buy a separate box that can cost upwards to $300.00. Want to record your favorite shows while you’re not home? That will set you back over $500.00. If you want to hook up your PC to your TV, you will have to buy a HDMI cable. Everything is about buying more and more! Remember the good old days when you could turn on your TV and that is all you needed to do? No box, no nothing. I’m just venting. In actually what are we to do about it? Don’t give in? Sure I could do that but I would be missing my favorite shows. I don’t even watch TV as much as most people. We are all slaves to the market. It’s not like most of us will say, “no I will not buy this and this and that”. Yea right!

The situation is as follows:
She’s back to square one. Again! The last few guys she’s been dealing/talking with have all had the same pattern. Emotionally unavailable! Every woman knows the type. He had a girlfriend. Sometimes they tell you about her. Sometimes they don’t. You’re paths cross and you two meet. You both get along very well. You’re both interested in getting to know each other better. You see potential in him. He’s caught up in your smile. Then it hits him! He’s torn between you the, “grass is greener on the other side” and the more familiar, “we have a history together and I’m so comfortable with you”. It’s funny how when she finally figured out what she wants in a man and is stable in every other area of your life, she hits one brick wall after another.
Since when does inviting yourself over after midnight in the getting to know you stage, constitute as a date? There seems to be a lack of effort on the part of many men out there. Maybe it is just her luck, her city or her aura. Who knows? If she keeps getting the same result, doesn’t that mean it’s not meant to be? It’s not like she’s hardcore in the dating scene. You know how when you look you don’t find. This very situation has happen so many times that she can see it coming before it actually comes to fruition. Yes it is a blessing to have that knowledge and wisdom, don’t get me wrong. For heaven’s sake, can a chick catch a break?!
So now the latest guy seems to have gone back to his girlfriend. That’s cool. She already made it clear that she did not want to be involved in any kind of drama. Kudos for him on respecting that …I guess. It’s the back and forth that can get aggravating. She feels if a man wants to get to know her, he will respect her and take her out. She is not expecting a 5 star restaurant, limo or horse carriage. It could be as simple as going for ice cream. Many men today forget how simple it can be. She is not 16, so don’t invite her to hang out at your place because it’s easy. Hopefully this is just a stage. Life is all about timing. It has been a rough couple of seasons but she has to look out for her all-star player. Without the all-star there is no team. A VIP will emerge soon. Might be a good idea to sit out on the next draft. She has been picking too many rookies. In the meantime she plans on keeping her A-game on the up-and-up. While keeping her eye on the prize as she goes for Gold!

It’s official. There will be no Grand Prix in the city of Montreal for the 2009 season. Montreal was the only North American city that held the Grand Prix. Year after year, people from all over the world would gather in my hometown to pretty much party for a weekend. Streets would shut down, F1 events would take place. It was one big celebration.
The reason for the no show next year? Like everything else it has to do with money. It’s becoming an event only the elite can afford to take on. When it became law that cigarette advertising would not be allowed anymore I knew that would be a bad thing for events such as this one. The Mayor of Montreal, Mr. Tremblay tried everything in his power to try and save the event foe 2009. In the end he felt the tax payers would not be able to afford this. No Grand Prix in Montreal means a loss of over 100 million dollars for the city. It’s a big money maker for the downtown businesses. The city says they will try to find an event to replace it but there are not many events that can make up for what F1 brings to the city. If you have been to Montreal to experience it yourself, then you know what I mean. Hopefully in the years to come the city will be able to come to a deal so we can bring back the excitement, tourist and money. Summer without the Grand Prix just won’t feel like a complete summer anymore.

Dr. Oz, a regular contributor to the Oprah brand, appeared on her talk show yesterday. The subject was about the science of beauty. Dr. Oz became a feature on the Oprah show because he is actually her own doctor. He has a way of explaining health in a way that everyone can understand. That’s how the ask Dr. Oz came about. His latest book You on a Diet is co-written with his long time associate Dr. Roizen.
It’s a best-selling diet book that focusses more on changing your lifestyle. Rather than going on a crash diet.
